When a callout puts your team into a hostile situation, the POINTER® SWAT/APC van moves them there under armor and holds up once they arrive. Agencies order this configuration more than any other in the POINTER® line because it carries a full crew and its gear. We build it on a full-size Ford Transit platform for units that need ballistic protection, urban agility, and room to work inside the vehicle, without the footprint of a full tactical truck like the Pit-Bull®. On the street it handles like a van; under fire it performs like an armored vehicle.

The POINTER® has one job above all others: bring your team home. We armor the full passenger cell with certified ballistic steel and multi-layer, no-spall bullet-resistant glass, then overlap the coverage across the doors, pillars, and roofline. Hence, nothing opens up at the seams. The protection package adds weight where it counts without making the van feel slow or clumsy, so your drivers keep the braking, handling, and ride quality they rely on during long shifts and on tight city streets.
Protection covers the entire crew compartment, floor to roof. We offer the POINTER® from Level A4 through A9 (CEN B6+), built with laboratory-tested materials that stop AR-15, 7.62x39, 5.56x45, 7.62x51, and M80 ball rounds, plus floor protection rated against two DM51 hand grenades. Six run-flat inserts keep the van rolling after a tire takes a hit, an armored fuel tank guards against fire and sabotage, and anti-tamper exhaust protection seals off another entry point. We prove every build the hard way, shooting both the materials and the finished vehicles in our own live-fire testing before certification.

Inside, the van runs as a mobile base, not just a way to get from staging to scene. The cabin seats up to ten, including the driver, on bench or individual seating, and you can lay out around the mission, with MOLLE racks and secure storage for weapons, breaching tools, and equipment. A 360-degree camera system and a night-vision front camera feed monitors at the crew stations; a PA and multi-siren system handles communication outside the vehicle, and a built-in network cabinet supports radios and mission electronics. When an operation needs an elevated position, the roof hatch and overwatch platform put an officer topside, with an interior fold-down ladder and a detachable exterior ladder for access. A heavy-duty ram bumper and recovery winch finish the front end, so the van looks like what it is: a SWAT vehicle on scene to take control.

Figures reflect a representative Level A9 build on the Ford Transit platform. Dimensions and weight vary with the base platform, protection level, and final configuration. Custom builds and higher levels are available
We engineer the POINTER® as a tactical platform from the chassis up, not an off-the-lot van with plates bolted on later. Protection, mobility, and interior layout all reflect how law enforcement and security teams operate in the field. When the job is to move people into a threat and bring them out safely, this is the van built for it.
